One of my all time favourite op shop finds is a barely wearable (anymore) quilted block-print jacket from the 1960's. The fabric is completely threadbare, and I certainly wouldn't ever consider washing it again. The only thing left to do is re-create it....and here it is!! I'm hoping for another 60 years out of this one!
Hand-block printed by my darling friends in India on 100% cotton cambric fabric. Both the lining and the padding is also 100% cotton.
This jacket is the perfect shape, sitting perfectly just-on-the-hips in length, and a not-too-heavy not-too-light weight, it can be worn all year, particularly between seasons, (and here in Victoria all through summer).
It will absolutely be thrown on with everything, dress, jeans, shorts and skirts. It features dark brown wooden bead buttons (like the originals), and a contrasting deep red lining fabric, making it reversible. It is designed to be machine washable and, as with all my garments, it will continue to soften and mold to the perfect shape with years and years of washes and wears.
