Several months ago I was contacted by a gorgeous soul who runs a tiny studio in Jaipur, India that sources and repurposes vintage saree silk. She agreed to send me some fabric samples, and I was absolutely blown away by the feel, and the patterns in these incredible silks. I just knew I had to use them to create clothing.
As a tailor, fabric is my obsession, and silk crepe is the absolute Rolls Royce of fabrics. Everything about it is top tier. The way it feels, it's delicacy, it's durability, the way it holds dye, and wears its colours, the way it feels on your skin, the way it flows when worn.
